Holy moly. We are just now entering week 6 (yet episode 7) of season 12 of the bachelorette and we only have 6 contestants left. Things are about to get serious fo’ realz.
Last week we saw the producer’s get real ballz to the wallz and have a SECOND TWO-ON-ONE in one season. Like Chris Harrison always says, this season has more drama and twists than ever before. If I could summarize this episode in one word it would be supremely, uncomfortably, dead-faced, cringe worthy, awkward.
First let’s talk about how uncomfortable it was when Wells got called out for not yet kissing JoJo. Poor Wells. I feel like he was by far the most normal and likable guy on the show and I feel like he would have gotten a lot more screen time if he had better abs. So basically for a half hour we watched in horror the awkwardness that unfolded between Wells and JoJo before sweet, sweet, Wells got sent home.
Then we had a tango with a twist. I did love JoJo’s pretty red dress in this scene, and I feel like the producer’s did a good job ingraining certain images in my head – I’m honestly surprised I haven’t dreamed about this episode.
Chase’s lack of emotion and facial expressions has also been the subject of multiple conversations I’ve been a part of in the last 2 weeks. On one hand, this makes me think I spend too much time thinking/talking about a terrible (yet somehow lovable and addicting) ABC reality TV show, but on the other hand I feel like this says a lot about Chase and his lacking personality (but he is pretty to look at).
Then we saw Derek cry as “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” played in the background and it was a truly magnificent moment.
Last but not least, JoJo had to make everyone have a minor panic attack when she decided to not send anyone else home but also made it painfully obvious that Alex and James Taylor are her least favorites.
Now, what you’ve all been patiently waiting for….
